Cables for Industrial and Commercial use

Control Cables

There is an extensive range of Control Cables available on the market; however there are only three main types which are utilised in the field of process automation.

This automation utilises computer technology and software engineering to help factories and power plants to run safely and efficiently. These cables are known as flexible instrumentation cables.
The three types are;

CY Cables - Screened Flexible Cable
-    These are used when interference-free transmission is needed.

YY Cables - Unscreened/Unshielded Control Cable
-    Works well in lighter mechanical stresses both indoors and outdoors.

SY Cables - Shielded Flex
-    Main feature is strength and durability due to a galvanised steel wire braid.

Even though that they have different strengths and are for different applications; they still share many features. They all offer flexibility, they are plain copper conductors and, typically, they have a voltage of 300/500 Volts.

These interconnecting cables are used in technologies where measuring, control and regulation of signal and control equipment is required. They are very common in the construction industry, transport networks, process control systems and automation.

These cables go by a vast variety of different industry names, such as; Robotic Cable, Motor Cable, Instrumentation Cable, Multi-core Cable, and Control Flex Cable.

Rubber Cables

Rubber cables are used in many different industries for a considerable variety of applications. Whether in home technology, inside industrial machines and devices or even in large scale engineering projects, rubber cables will always feature in some way or other.

Each rubber cable offers different qualities and features to ensure that it can fit the purpose of its usage. They vary from thick, robust rubber cables that can withstand excessive mechanical stress, to lightweight and flexible rubber cables that are used in the majority of everyday devices.

All European cables have to conform to CENELEC’s stringent specifications (European Committee for Electro Technical Standardization). To achieve this they are intensely tested – occasionally for over 5 million cycles. Due to this careful procedure,  standard rubber cables are reliable, long lasting and, above all else, are safe.

There are many different rubber sheathed cables that are used for a vast variety of different applications both indoors and outdoors. Some cables are halogen free, whilst others are waterproof.

The full range of rubber cables is H05RR-F, H05RN-F, HO7RN-F, H07ZZF, H01N2-D, NSSHOU, NSGAFOU, NSHXAFO, H07RN8-F.

These standardized cables are also known by other industry terms such as PVC cables, harmonized cables, hi-volt cables, hi-temp cables, festoon cables, crane cables, neoprene cables, lift cables and torsion cables.
